01Acceptance of these terms

InsuranceBorder.com (the "Site") is operated by Insurance Border Agency Inc. ("we", "us", or "InsuranceBorder"). These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site, including quote requests, agent directory listings, educational resources, the Agent Partner Portal, and any related services.

By visiting the Site, submitting a quote request, or creating a portal account, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to submit a quote request or hold a portal account. If you use the Site on behalf of a business, you represent that you are authorized to bind that business to these Terms.

02What InsuranceBorder does and does not do

InsuranceBorder is a digital front door for insurance. We publish educational content about coverage, maintain a directory of licensed insurance professionals, and route consumer quote requests to a single licensed agent who has told us they write that line of coverage in your state.

InsuranceBorder is not an insurance carrier and does not itself issue, bind, or underwrite policies unless expressly stated on a specific product page. Submitting a quote request through the Site does not bind coverage, create a policy, or obligate you to purchase anything. Coverage exists only when a licensed agent or carrier confirms it in writing.

Products, carriers, and availability vary by state and are subject to licensing, appointment, eligibility, and underwriting requirements. Information on the Site is general in nature and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed professional who knows your situation.

03Quote requests and consent to be contacted

When you submit a quote request you are asking us to share the information you provide with a licensed insurance professional so they can contact you about coverage. Before anything is sent, we show you who may contact you, how, and what information they receive. Each consent you give is versioned and timestamped on your request.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information. Inaccurate answers can lead to quotes that do not reflect your actual risk and, if carried into an application, may affect a policy or a claim.

  • Your request is routed to one licensed agent at a time. If that agent does not accept it within one business day, it moves to the next licensed match.
  • Text messages are sent only if you opted in. You may withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP or by contacting us.
  • Consent to be contacted is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
  • Regulated lines such as Medicare, life, and health include additional notices required by law, which form part of your consent when shown.

04Agent directory and listings

The agent directory lists insurance professionals who have registered with InsuranceBorder and whose state licenses we verify against public licensing records at onboarding and on renewal. A listing indicates that the agent holds the licenses shown; it is not an endorsement, a guarantee of service quality, or a recommendation for your specific needs.

Reviews, ratings, and profile content are provided by agents and consumers. We may remove content that is false, defamatory, unlawful, or that violates these Terms, but we do not independently verify every statement in a profile or review.

05Agent Partner Portal

The Agent Partner Portal is available only to insurance professionals and agencies who have applied and been accepted into the InsuranceBorder network. Your use of the portal is also governed by the Partner Agreement you accepted at onboarding; where these Terms and the Partner Agreement conflict, the Partner Agreement controls for portal use.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at ops@insuranceborder.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or revoke portal access for lapsed licensure, unaccepted leads beyond the service-level window, misuse of consumer information, or any violation of these Terms.

  • Consumer information delivered through the portal may be used only to respond to the request for which it was provided.
  • You may not resell, redistribute, or share consumer requests outside your licensed agency.
  • You must keep your license, appointment, and contact information current so requests are routed only to lines you are authorized to write.

06Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to allow any third party to:

  • Submit quote requests on behalf of someone else without their authorization, or submit false or fraudulent requests.
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest the agent directory, quote flows, or any other part of the Site by automated means.
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the Site, including probing, scanning, or testing vulnerabilities, or circumventing access controls.
  • Impersonate InsuranceBorder, any agent, or any carrier, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Use the Site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms.

07Intellectual property

The Site, including its text, graphics, logos, product flows, glossary, and software, is owned by Insurance Border Agency Inc. or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. "InsuranceBorder" and the InsuranceBorder wordmark are trademarks of Insurance Border Agency Inc.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Site for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Site without our prior written permission.

By submitting content such as reviews or profile information, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating the Site.

08Third-party agents, carriers, and links

Agents and agencies listed on the Site are independent businesses, not employees or agents of InsuranceBorder. Any advice, quote, application, or policy you receive comes from that professional or the carrier, and your relationship with them is governed by their own terms and applicable insurance law.

The Site may link to third-party websites, including state insurance departments and carrier sites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.

09Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, InsuranceBorder disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any quote will be offered or honored, or that any agent will respond within a particular time.

Educational content, premium ranges, and coverage descriptions on the Site are illustrative. Actual terms, premiums, and eligibility are determined solely by the carrier at the time of application.

10Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Insurance Border Agency Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, any quote request, or any interaction with an agent or carrier reached through the Site.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

11Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Insurance Border Agency Inc. from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or, if you are a portal user, your handling of consumer information delivered to you.

12Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or the portal at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law. Sections concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

13Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under the insurance laws of your state, or your right to file a complaint with your state insurance department.

14Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide notice on the Site or by email to portal users. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to Insurance Border Agency Inc., Attn: Legal, at legal@insuranceborder.com. Portal users with account or licensing questions should contact ops@insuranceborder.com.
